Choosing a removal company

Moving home is a huge event in anyones life, and so making sure you get it right is essential. There are a range of different options and services out there, from one man and van bands, right up to the multi-national movers with everything in between. You can find a great company in any one of these categories, but there are certain things to look out for, to ensure your move goes as smoothly as possible.

why us?

  • A dedicated team of full-time staff, we never hire casual labour

  • We operate a modern fleet of custom removals vehicles

There are lots of removals companies out there, some bigger, and many smaller than us. We appreciate that moving home isn’t something you are likely to do on a regular basis, and so when it comes to choosing a company to help you do that, there is a lot to consider.

As with many things in life, with removals, generally speaking you get what you pay for. There are hundreds of smaller outfits and sole-traders out there who will do a great job for you, and a reduced price thanks to lower overheads, but be careful.

The Home Survey

Regardless of who you choose, the first thing you should look for is a free, no-obligation home survey. This is for us, or any other company to fully assess what is involved in your move, to provide an accurate and final written quotation. With this, both parties know where they stand. We don’t believe that full removals, particularly where deadlines are involved, can be successfully completed blind.

The Quote

The quotation provided should be fully itemised, and list on it any additional, or potentially additional charges, such as waiting times (for when keys are delayed) and cancellation charges.

Generally you will find that quotes from comparable removal companies are quite closely clustered together, to give you a good idea of the amount of money you are going to have to spend. With this price in mind you can be wary of any that are wildly above or below this figure.
